Workshop on Clinical Contraception
A Workshop on ‘Clinical Contraception - Evidence
to Practice’ was organised by the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology
of Father Muller Medical College for the Medical undergraduates and post
graduates of the department on 22nd July 2016.
The workshop began at 2.30 pm in the Knowledge
Centre Hall and was divided into four modules. The modules on IUCD’s and
hormonal contraception were conducted by guest speakers Dr Aditi Shetty and Dr Shraddha Shetty, Gynaecologists from KMC, Mangalore. The module on barrier contraception and special situations was
conducted by Dr Soumya Mariappa.
The Workshop had an attendance of 75 students and
involved a pre-test questionnaire, practical demonstrations, hands-on IUCD
insertions on a model uterus and student interaction. It ended at 5 pm and was followed by high
tea.
