Inauguration of New Father Muller Allied Health Sciences College, Thumbay & Courses for the Academic Year 2024-25

The inauguration of the 1st batch of B Sc Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology (B.Sc. AT & OT) & 1st batch of B.Sc. Medical Imaging Technology (B.Sc. MIT) for the academic year 2024-25 took place at Florence Nightingale Hall FMNCT on 18-11-2024.
The Programme commenced with a prayer song. The welcome address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Sylvester Vincent Lobo, Administrator, FMHT & FMNCT, provided a brief overview of Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI), highlighting the establishment of FMHT and FMNCT. He warmly welcomed the newly joined students and their parents to Father Muller Allied Health Sciences College, Thumbay (FMAHSCT), stating "today onwards you are mullerians". Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho is the driving force behind this new course.
The inauguration was marked by lighting the lamp by the Chief Guest Dr. Hilda Fernandes, Principal of FMCOAHS, Kankanady Mangalore, President of the programme Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director Father Muller Charitable Institutions, Dr Shivashankara A R, Principal, Father Muller Allied Health Sciences College Thumbay, Rev. Fr Sylvester Vincent Lobo, Administrator Father Muller Hospital Thumbay, Dr Kiran Shetty, Medical Superintendent of Father Muller Hospital Thumbay, Dr Sr. Judy SIC, Principal Father Muller Nursing College Thumbay, the student representative Ms. Chethana Jyothish and all the other dignitaries.
In her inaugural address, Chief Guest Dr. Hilda Fernandes expressed her gratitude and congratulated everyone on the successful establishment of the new college. Secondly, she enlightened the audience about the scope of Allied Health Sciences course in hospital research and education.
Thereafter the Director announced the name of newly appointed Principal Dr Shivashankara A R and handed over the permission letters obtained from Government of Karnataka and RGUHS.
Dr Shivashankara A R, the newly designated Principal, Father Muller Allied Health Sciences College Thumbay addressing the gathering briefed about the new B Sc. Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology (B.Sc. AT & OT) & B.Sc. Medical Imaging Technology (B.Sc. MIT) he highlighted being a first batch which stands tall in the history of FMCI. He insisted the students to develop their skills by utilizing the clinical posting and asked the students to focus on studies.
In his presidential address, Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho shared his joy, stating, "The dream that we dreamt has been realized today". He thanked everyone who had been actively involved in making the new college a reality. He linked Dr. Shivashankara A R to Joseph from the bible, describing him as a good man with required abilities for mentoring the students and faculty.
Rev. Fr Jeevan George Sequeira, Administrator, Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Kankanady, Rev. Fr Nelson Deeraj Pais, Administrator Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College, Deralakatte, Rev Fr Nilesh Crasta, Asst. Administrator, Father Muller Medical college Hospital, Kankanady, Dr Venkatesh B M, Vice Dean, Father Muller Medical college Hospital, Kankanady , Faculty from FMMC, FMAHSCT and others graced the occasion.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs Divya Vincent Asst professor Anaesthesia Department and the ceremony was eloquently compered by Mrs Sowmya Neetha Aranha, Senior Resident, Anaesthesia Dept FMHT. The programme concluded with the singing of the Institutional Anthem, followed by refreshments for all attendees.
