Christmas and New Year Celebration

The Christmas and New Year celebration was held at Florence Nightingale Hall, Father Muller Nursing College, Thumbay, on December 19, 2024, at 3:00 PM. The event, organized in collaboration with Father Muller Hospital, Thumbay; Father Muller Nursing College, Thumbay; and Father Muller Allied Health Sciences College, Thumbay, was graced by Rev. Fr Richard Coelho, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, who presided over the function. He was joined by Rev. Fr Sylvester Vincent Lobo, Administrator of FMHT; Dr. Kiran Shetty, Medical Superintendent, FMHT; Dr. Sr Judy SIC, Principal, FMNCT; Mrs. Janet Sequeira, Vice Principal, FMNCT; and Dr. Shivashankara A. R., Principal, FMAHSCT.
The event commenced with a prayer dance by the first-year B.Sc. Nursing students of FMNCT, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Shivashankara A. R., Principal of FMAHSCT, who extended a warm welcome to the gathering. The dignitaries inaugurated the function with the ceremonial cutting of the Christmas cake. “Muller @ Thumbay," the magazine of FMHT, FMNCT, and FMAHSCT, was released by Rev. Fr Richard Coelho, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions.
In his presidential address, Rev. Fr Richard Coelho said, “Christmas is a celebration of love, brotherhood, and festivity. It teaches us the value of love, with God coming into the world, bringing us salvation, joy, and peace. The history of the world is divided into Before Christ and After Christ. The man who brought peace to the world is Jesus Christ. Let us forget our hatred and anger and instead see God’s grace in our brothers and sisters.”
The festive spirit was brought to life with Christmas carols, vibrant dance performances, and an engaging skit by the staff of FMHT, FMNCT, and students of FMAHSCT. Dr. Edveena Monis, Associate Professor, FMNCT, conducted fun-filled lucky games, and prizes were distributed to the winners of the Christmas Star competition and spot games. Ms. Drishal D’Souza, Assistant Quality Manager, FMHT, meticulously compered the event, while Dr. Chinmayee Hebbar, Senior Resident, Department of ENT, delivered the vote of thanks.
The event concluded with the singing of the Institution Anthem, followed by the distribution of refreshments to all staff and students.
