Annual Sports Meet “Velora 26” was conducted on 23.06.2026 at the Father Muller Stadium, Deralakatte. The inaugural programme commenced at 9.00 a.m. Mr. Royal Dsilva, National Athlete, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, and Rev. Fr. Faustine L. Lobo, Director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions, presided over the function.
The programme was compered by Mr. Shaik Nawaz and Ms. Samyuktha. The event began with the March Past led by Ms. Chrisel Dsa, followed by a prayer song by Ms. Krishna Priya and team, invoking the blessings of the Almighty.
Dr. E.S.J. Prabhu Kiran, Principal, FMHMC, welcomed the gathering. The institutional flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest. The athletic torch was carried by Ms. Neha, Ms. Arathi, Ms. Siri, Mr. Kiran, Mr. Thabeen, and Mr. Sidhartha. Mr. Nikhil, Sports Secretary, administered the athletic oath.
In his address, Mr. Royal Dsilva motivated the students by sharing his experiences as a student and his journey towards becoming a national athlete. Rev. Fr. Faustine emphasized the importance of discipline through sports and encouraged the spirit of healthy competition.
Rev. Fr. Donald Nilesh Crasta, Administrator, FMHMC, extended his wishes to all participants of the various sporting events. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Sebastian P. A., Sports Coordinator. Dr. Vilma Meera Dsouza, Vice Principal, FMHMC, and Dr. Sathish S., Principal, FMCOPS, also graced the occasion with their presence.
The inaugural programme concluded with the Institutional Anthem.
Various athletic events were conducted throughout the day, and prizes were distributed by the faculty members. Mr. Kirankumar was adjudged the Best Athlete (Men) and Ms. Souhardika as the Best Athlete (Women).
Team Kent retained the Overall Championship Trophy, while Team Hering emerged as the runners-up. A friendly cricket match between staff and students added excitement and entertainment to the event.
All the events were conducted under the supervision of Mr. Chennakeshava M G, Physical Education Instructor, FMHMC.
The Annual Sports Meet concluded successfully at 6.30 p.m.
