  • Dr Nishanth Baliga, Assistant Professor of Critical Care Medicine Department has been awarded "Fellowship in Critical Care Ultrasound" by the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine in January 2025.
  • A Chapter co-authored by Dr. Sudheer K., Assistant Professor of Surgical Gastroenterology titled “Acute Mesenteric Ischemia” has been published in a textbook titled Decision Making Pathways in Digestive Surgery in the era of minimally invasive surgery’ by JP Publication.
  • Dr Lenon Jason D Souza, Assistant Professor of Radiology department has been elected as the Executive Committee member of the Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology for the year 2025-26
  • Two Chapter authored by Dr. Rochelle Monteiro, Professor of Dermatology titled “AI assisted chatbots and virtual assistants, AI in telemedicine” and "Ethical considerations of AI" has been published in the Textbook titled "Artificial Intelligent in Dermatology" by Bhalani Publishers which was released during the DERMACON 2025 held at Jaipur from 6 th to 9 th February 2025. This is the first textbook on Artificial intelligence in Dermatology in India.
  • Two Chapter co-authored by Dr. Abheesh Hegde, Associate Professor of Urology titled “Asymptomatic Lower Calyceal Calculus” and "Post -Ureteroscopy Stricture" has been published in the book titled 'USI's Clinical Urology - A Practical Approach'.
  • The Community Based Research Project of Dr Kiran, Assistant Professor of Dermatology Titled “Unveiling the consequences : enhancing patient and pharmacist knowledge on the impacts of over the counter steroid combined topical antifungals for dermatophytosis” has been awarded the DERMLINK 2025 Research Grant (International) under the International Foundation for Dermatology through the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS). A sum of USD 4700 has been sanctioned.
  • Dr Vishma K, Associate Professor of Anaesthesiology has authored a Chapter titled : Anaesthesia in Interventional Radiology" which is published in the Textbook of Interventional Radiology.
  • Dr Smitha Bhat, Professor of Medicine, Dr Achal Shetty, Associate Professor of Community Medicine, Dr Neetha Shastry, Associate Professor of Physiology and Dr Chandralekha N, Associate Professor of Pharmacology and authors from various medical colleges have contributed chapters in this book.

  • Dr Rochelle Monteiro, Professor of Dermatology is selected for DERMASEVA Award - Community service award from Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists for her community based research project.
  • Dr Ramesh Bhat M., Head of Research and Professor of Dermatology is selected to receive Best Researcher Award 2024 from Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists for his original article titled "Clinico - mycological validation of dermatophytosis severity score and its correlation with patient- reported outcome measures" which is published in Mycoses journal.

Kini, Professor of Pathology has secured Third place for her Research Paper titled "Entrustable Professional Activity: Leveraging Faculty Development Program for Development and Validation" at the KAPCON 2024 - 50 th Annual State Conference of the Karnataka Chapter of Indian Association of Pathologists and Mirobiologists held at JNMC, Belagavi.

  • a Chapter authored by Dr. Manohar H Martis, Associate Professor of General Surgery titled “Poorly differentiated thyroid carcinoma” has been published in the Textbook of Endocrine Surgery of the Indian Association of Endocrine Surgeons.
  • Dr Anto Maria Meshach M, PG Resident of Orthopaedics has won Third Prize in Paper Presentation titled “Staged tendon treatment for chronic diabetic ulcers beneath the first metatarsal head” held during 21 st DFSI, 10 th IADFS and 2 nd D-Foot International Conference 2024 at Mumbai from 27 th to 29 th September 2024.
  • Dr Annabel Jose, Senior Resident of Dermatology has won Second Prize in PQ Practitioners Quiz held during 6 th Biennial National Conference of Pigmentary Disorders Society – PIGMENTARYCON 2024 at Yenepoya Medical College Managlore on 21 st and 22 nd September 2024.
  • Dr Prajna Shetty, Senior Resident of Dermatology has won Second Prize in the Free Paper Presentation titled “A synergistic approach to the treatment of onychomycosis using laser assisted topical therapy” during ACSICON 2024 held at Tamilnadu from 30 th August 2024 to 1 st Septermber 2024.
  • Dr Padmaja Udaykumar, Professor & HOD of Pharmacology was felicitated by the Indian Medical Association, Mangalore on the Teachers day held on 5 th September 2024.
  • the Community Based Research Project of Dr Michelle Fernandes, Professor of Dermatology Titled “Waves of Wellness: Empowering Fisherman for skin health and prevention” has been awarded the DERMLINK 2024 Research Grant (International) under the International Foundation for Dermatology through the International League of Dermatological Soceities (ILDS). This is the only project selected from India this year. A sum of USD 4130 has been sanctioned.
  • Dr Abheesh Hegde, Assistant Professor of Urology was selected by the European Association of Urology and had received a scholarship to attend the UroONCO 2024, Annual Meeting of the Uro Oncology section of EAU at Budapest, Hungary in June 2024. He is also been selected as the Council member of Youth Section of Urology Society of India.

  • Dr Sweta Shanbhag, Assistant Professor of Paediatrics secured third prize for her research paper titled “Role of Modified hematological sepsis score and red cell distribution width in early diagnosis of neonatal sepsis” during the Mangalore Pedicon 2024 and National Neonatology CME held on 9th and 10th March 2024 at K.S.Hegde Medical Academy, Mangalore.
  • Dr Soujanya Mynalli, Assistant Professor of Radio Diagnosis Department has actively contributed as Faculty in the 4th Breast Imaging and Interventional Techniques (BRIIT-2024) Conference held on 24th and 25th February 2024 at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. She conducted an engaging session and demonstrated her expertise by performing hands on workshop on “Wire localization procedure”. She delivered a talk on “Radiologist contribution in presurgical planning for oncoplastic breast procedures” during the conference

  • Dr Madhurima A Nayak, Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology has authored a Text book titled “Clinical Manual of Ophthalmology” which provides practical tips for dealing with common ophthalmic presentations that are useful in day-to-day clinical practice. The book offers systematic approach to disease and Case based learning is highlighted. It is a must have foundation guide for Postgraduate students.
  • Dr Archana Bhat, Associate Professor of Pathology has authored a textbook on Renal Pathology titled “Essentials of Renal Pathology” which was released during the Pre Conference Workshop conducted as part of the 49th Annual State level Conference of KCIAPM – KAPCON 2023 organized by the Department of Pathology on 5th October 2023 at Father Muller Medical College.

  • Prof. Cherishma DSilva, Course Coordinator of Physiotherapy Department presented an Oral proffered paper at International Conference of Multinational Association of Cancer Care #MASCC2023 held in Nara, Japan on 24th June 2023. She was the only Indian physiotherapist to represent our country and our Institution at this platform in the field of “Exercise Oncology”.

  • Dr Scandashree K, Assistant Professor of Pharmacology, secured First Prize in the Oral Presentation titled “Across sectional study to evaluate antimicrobial usage according to WHO – access, watch, reserve (aware) classification in the surgical wards of a tertiary health care centre in Dakshina Kannada District” at a National Conference of Pharmacovigilance and Outcomes of Research jointly organized by the NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and ISPOR NITTE, Student Chapter, Mangaluru on 2nd and 3rd December 2022.

  • Dr Archana Bhat, Associate Professor of Pathology, appointed as Editor-in-Chief of RGUHS Journal of Allied Health Sciences for two years up to 31.05.2023. She authored a textbook titled “Essentials of Renal Pathology”.

  • Dr Rochelle Cheryle Monteiro, Associate Professor of Dermatology, completed a one-year course on “Effective Writing for Health Care Program (EWHC)” from 01.06.2022 to 15.06.2023 from Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
  • Prof. Cherishma DSilva, appointed as the first Principal of Father Muller College of Physiotherapy on 27.09.2023. She presented a paper at the International Conference of Multinational Association of Cancer Care (#MASCC2023) held in Nara, Japan on 24.06.2023. She was the only Indian physiotherapist to represent India and our institution at this platform in the field of Exercise Oncology.

  • Dr Ramesh Bhat M, Professor of Dermatology, honored during the World Congress of Dermatology (WCD) Singapore from July 2-8, for having served the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) from 2019-2023. He was the first elected Indian International Director in the history of ILDS.
  • Dr Rochelle Monteiro, Associate Professor of Dermatology, awarded the DERMLINK 2023 Research Grant (International) under the International Foundation for Dermatology through the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) for the community-based research project “Closing the cycle of marginalization- Migrant Workers and Neglected Tropical Disorders of Skin (NTDs) in South India”. Only one project per country is selected for this prestigious grant among a multitude of applicants.

  • Dr Shruthi, Assistant Professor of Microbiology, won second prize for presenting an e-poster titled “Simulation based approach in learning microbiological sample collection techniques” at Simulcon 2021, 3rd Annual International Simulation Conference held virtually from 3rd to 5th December 2021. She also received certification as a “Certified Professional in Biorisk Management” by the Certification body of the International Federation of Biosafety Associations (IFBA).
  • Dr B.M. Zeeshan Hameed, Professor of Urology, selected as the Chairman of Youth Section of Urological Society of India (YOU-USI) from 2022 to 2024. He received the “SS BAPAT Prize” for ideas and innovation and “USI Member Travelling Fellowship” during the 55th USICON 2022, the annual conference of Urological Society of India held at Ahmedabad from 27th to 29th January 2022.
  • Dr Jyothi Jayaraman, Assistant Professor of Dermatology, and Dr Rochelle Monteiro, Associate Professor of Dermatology, secured first and third prize respectively in the ACAD Quiz 2021-22 series organized during the e-DERMACON 2022, 50th National Conference of IADVL held from 4th to 6th February 2022.
