User awareness session on “Springer Nature”

Father Muller Central Library Committee organized an User awareness session on “Springer Nature” on 20th February 2025 at 3.00 pm in the Decennial Memorial Hall.

 

The Program began with Invocation with a prayer song. Dr. John J.S. Martis, Professor of General Surgery, Chairperson of the Central Library Committee welcomed the gathering and introduced the Resource Person Mr. Rajaneesh, Licensing Manager, Institutional sales, South India and Mr. Kiran M, Account Manager, Institutional Sales, Karnataka & Kerala, Springer Nature India Private Limited. Dr. Ramesh Bhat M., Head of Research Centre & Professor of Dermatology, offered a bouquet to Mr. Rajaneesh & Dr. Somesh M.S, Professor & HOD, Anatomy offered a bouquet to Mr. Kiran M.

 

The resource person Mr. Rajaneesh gave a Power Point Presentation and a live demo on Springer Nature research portfolio on online collection - e-Journals,          e-books, Databases, Research service in Medical field. Briefed on publishing data, benefits of fully open access agreements for Librarians and Researchers, different options of open access and also briefed on APC (Article Processing Charge) free Journals.

The program was attended by the staff, Postgraduate Students of various Colleges, Library Committee Members and the Library Staff. There was a good response to the Program, over 150 Staff members and Students attended and were actively involved in the interactive session.

 

The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Janet Dotty Lobo, Chief Librarian and the Secretary of the Central Library Committee. The program was meticulously compered by Dr Agnes Moira Preethi D’Souza, Assistant Professor, Community Medicine and the member of the Central Library Committee. The Program concluded with Institutional Anthem followed by Refreshments.
