Mid Term National CME

On the 9th of March, in association with the Mangalore Radiology Forum, The Indian Society of Pediatric Radiology (ISPR) had conducted its Mid Term National CME at Father Muller Medical College. 

With several renowned medical experts in attendance, this National CME was a highly anticipated event.  

The occasion was graced by the National President of the ISPR Dr. Bijon Kundu who started off the day’s proceedings by sharing his words of wisdom and encouragement with the gathering.  

Dr. Sridhar Gibikote Professor in the department of Radiodiagnosis CMC Vellore, the national secretary of the ISPR was next to address the gathering, stating the importance of the work done by the ISPR and Pediatric Radiologists worldwide.  

Dr. Santosh T. Soans, Head of the Department of Pediatrics AJIMS Mangalore shared his views and experience in treating children and the importance and care that must go into the field of pediatric radiology.  

Finally Reverend Father Richard Aloysius Coelho delivered a thought provoking and insightful presidential address, concluding the inaugural ceremonies of the day.  

Under the guidance of Dr. Ram Shenoy Basti Head of the Department of Radiodiagnosis Father Muller Medical College and Dr. Praveen Kumar John, Professor in the department of Radiology AJ Institute of Medical Science and the President of the Mangalore Radiology Forum, the event was conducted smoothly and systematically. All in attendance were thoroughly satisfied by the knowledge and skill presented before them on the day.  

With speakers including Dr. Ajay D’Souza, consultant paediatric radiologist at Al Jalila Children’s  Hospital Dubai and Dr. Shyamkumar N Keshava, Head of the department of Interventional Radiology in CMC Vellore, some of the brightest minds in the field of pediatric radiology shared their valuable insights with the gathering. 

In addition to this, both a poster presentation and a paper presentation competition were conducted on the day, giving many students the opportunity to showcase their efforts in the field of research.  

Pediatric Radiology is a developing and upcoming field and there is a growing need for next generation of health workers to imbibe this knowledge. 

This Mid Term CME, provided an amazing opportunity for many Post-Graduate students to learn from and speak to experts in this field, while honing their own skills and interest in Pediatric Radiology.
