The Late Rev. Fr. Patrick Memorial Oration and Best Alumni Award Function was successfully organized by the Alumni Association of Father Muller Medical College on 29th March 2025. The event saw enthusiastic participation from faculty, alumni, and students, making it a memorable and meaningful gathering.
The Master of Ceremonies for the event was Dr. Sueallen Lorna D'Souza, Joint secretary, FMMCAA, who skillfully guided the proceedings with poise. The function commenced with a prayer song, followed by the dignitaries taking their place on the dais. The esteemed dignitaries included:
· Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho, Honorary President, FMMCAA and Director, FMCI
· Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, Designate Director and Administrator of FMHMC
· Dr. Antony Sylvan D'Souza, Dean, FMMC
· Dr. Jayashankar Marla, Senior Consultant, CTVS, AJIMS
· Dr. Reshma G. Kini, President, FMMC Alumni Association & Professor, Department of Pathology
· Dr. Michelle Fernandes, Secretary, FMMC Alumni Association & Professor, Department of Dermatology
The event featured an inspiring welcome address by Dr. Michelle Fernandes, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp. This was followed by the announcement and felicitation of the Best Alumni Award recipient, an occasion filled with pride and appreciation for the outstanding contributions of our alumni. The awardee was introduced by Dr. Reshma G. Kini, followed by a group photograph to commemorate the moment.
Dr. Lulu Sheriff delivered an inspiring acceptance speech on behalf of the awardee. The presidential address by Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho emphasized the importance of alumni engagement and institutional excellence.
Dr. Anil Shetty provided a heartfelt introduction to the life and contributions of the Late Rev. Fr. Patrick, after which he was felicitated.
The highlight of the function was the prestigious memorial oration delivered by Dr. Jayashankar Marla; a distinguished speaker known for his contributions to the field. He was introduced by Dr. Shivashankar, and the oration on “Resilience in a doctor’s life” was well received by the audience. Following this, a felicitation and token of appreciation were presented to Dr. Jayashankar Marla and Dr. Shivashankar.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Jason D’Souza, Treasurer of FMMCAA. The event concluded on a high note with the institutional anthem, reflecting the unity and spirit of our institution.
The function was well appreciated by all attendees and was a grand success, showcasing the commitment and organizational excellence of the Alumni Association. We extend our sincere gratitude to the FMCI management for their unwavering support in making this event a resounding success.
