The Department of ENT, Father Muller Medical College successfully organized a half day CME on vertigo and balance disorders on 16th September 2025 for postgraduate students and consultants of ENT, Neurology and Audiology departments. The dedicated team consisted of Dr.Vinay V Rao,(Organizing chairman) and Dr. Adhyasha Surendran(organizing secretary) from department of ENT. Dr.Vijayalakshmi Subramaniam – Professor, Department of ENT, Yenepoya Medical College, Dr. Sheetal Rai, Professor, Department of ENT, Yenepoya Medical College, Dr. Deekshith R.M., Assistant Professor, Department of ENT, Yenepoya Medical College were the guest faculty and speakers.
The event commenced with lamp lighting ceremony, presided over by Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo (Director, FMCI), Dr.Anthony Sylvian Dsouza (Dean, FMMC) and other dignitaries.
Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo expressed gratitude for hosting the workshop at Father Muller for first time and extended best wishes for all attending delegates.
Dr. Adhyasha Surendran(Senior Resident , ENT department) welcomed gathering and emphasized the programme’s significance and announced the commencement of vestibular clinic, Dr. Deekshith Shetty (Assistant professor, ENT department) delivered the vote of thanks. Dr. Gouri Ramesh, second year PG conducted the inauguration ceremony.
The scientific  sessions covered wide spectrum of topics including history taking, examination,  common peripheral and central causes of vertigo and audiological evaluation. Dr.  Prashasthi P (Head of department, Speech and Hearing), Dr.Vimala (Associate Professor,  Department of Neurology) covered instrumental assessments and central causes of  vertigo respectively.
The CME  provided a valuable platform for participants to update their knowledge and  understand multidisciplinary approach to vertigo management.
The event was  highly appreciated by attendees and contributed significantly to enhancing  clinical acumen and patient care in vertigo management.
