On the occasion of International Women’s Day, an awareness talk was organized on March 10th, 2026 by the Department of Dermatology, Father Muller Medical College Hospital, to promote health awareness among women. Around 25 female workers of Durga Facility Management Services, along with their Supervisor, were present during the session.
Dr. Michelle Fernandes, Professor and HOD, welcomed the gathering and briefed regarding the purpose of the awareness talk.
Dr Sushmitha K, Senior Resident, delivered a lecture on maintaining good hygiene practices , especially for women who are actively engaged in hospital care.
The participants were also educated about the prevention of fungal infections, which are common due to excessive sweating, damp clothing, and nature of work. Practical tips such as keeping the skin clean, hand hygiene,wearing breathable clothing, and seeking medical advice when symptoms appear were discussed.
Health education on nutrition, balanced diet, hydration and wellness advice was imparted.
The session also emphasized the importance of avoiding self-medication. Participants were advised not to use over the counter medicines and seek medical care in case of skin diseases.
Dr Jyothi Jayaraman, Associate professor concluded the program with the vote of thanks.
A total of 65 participants, including 25 female workers from Durga Facility Management Services, along with their supervisor, faculty members, and postgraduate residents of the Department of Dermatology, attended the session and actively participated in the discussion.
The talk was interactive, and the participants actively listened and clarified their doubts. The awareness session helped in spreading knowledge about maintaining good health and hygiene among the female workers.
