The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Father Muller Hospital, successfully conducted the Safe Motherhood Day Program on 11th April 2026 (Saturday) at the OBG OPD Classroom, Kankanady, Mangalore. The program was organized in association with Father Muller College of Nursing and the Mangalore Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society.

The event aimed at creating awareness among antenatal mothers and healthcare staff regarding safe pregnancy practices, early identification of danger signs, and the importance of maternal health.

The program was organized under the guidance of Dr. Mahesh Navada ,Head of Department, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Dr. Ektha M. Shetty, Assistant Professor Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, whose efforts ensured the smooth execution and academic value of the session.

The highlight of the program was an expert talk on Safe Motherhood delivered by Dr. Ambika Hegde, Associate Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, who emphasized evidence-based antenatal care, nutrition, and timely intervention to prevent maternal complications.

This was followed by an Antenatal exercise session conducted by Mrs Ramyashree S, Associate Professor  and Ms Preetha Dsouza ,Lecturer , Department of OBG Nursing , Father Muller College of Nursing ,which focused on simple, safe exercises beneficial during pregnancy, encouraging active participation from the attendees
