Clinical Pharmacology play a vital role in bridging the gap between basic medical sciences and clinical practice. In a medical college and hospital, this discipline contributes significantly to education, research and patient care. Pharmacology provides foundational knowledge of drugs, their mechanisms, therapeutic uses and safety profiles, thereby shaping the prescribing behavior of future healthcare professionals. It supports undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and drives innovations in drug research and curriculum development.Clinical Pharmacology extends this foundation into real-world patient care by promoting the rational and safe use of medicines in hospital settings. It encompasses therapeutic drug monitoring, adverse drug reaction surveillance, drug policy formulation and antimicrobial stewardship. Through collaboration with clinicians, pharmacists and hospital committees, clinical pharmacologists ensure optimal pharmacotherapy and medication safety.

Together, this discipline fosters a culture of evidence-based medicine, responsible drug use, and continuous learning, ultimately contributing to improved healthcare outcomes and patient safety.
