- The following Post Graduate Residents of Surgery department who participated in 83rd Annual Conference (ASICON 2023) organised by The Association of Surgeons of India held from 13th December to 16th December 2023 at Vishakhapatnam, have won the following prizes during the conference.
Dr Frana Dsouza – Third prize in Best Poster Award titled “The Silent Squeeze: Co-Arctation of aorta is unusual story”.
Dr Jeevan Kumar B - Second prize in Best Poster Award titled “Pott’s Puffy Tumour”
- Mr Joseph Paul Arnold, MBBS 2021 Batch Student presented a Paper titled “Awareness periconeptional use of folic acid to prevent neural tube defects in young Indian females – A regional study” and secured Best Scientific Paper Award under the guidance of Dr Varsha Shenoy, Professor of Anatomy, at the National Conference on ‘Community Health Perspective : Innovations and Newer Horizons’ held on 17.10.2023 organized by Department of Community Medicine FMMC and FMCON.
- Ms Princita Correa and Mr Joseph Paul Arnold, MBBS 2021 Batch Students represented Father Muller Medical College in the “MICRO COMBAT -3rd” Annual State Level Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Quiz organized by Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore on 4th November 2023 and bagged Second place.
- Mr Adithya Shelley, MBBS 2019 Batch Student presented a Poster titled “Speciation of lactobacilli isolated from fermented dairy products by MALDI TOF analysis and evaluation of its antagonistic effects enteric pathogens” and secured Third place under the guidance of Dr Beena Anatony, Professor of Microbiology, during the National CME on Anaerobes held on 14.10.2023 organized by Department of Microbiology, FMMC and FMRC.
- Ms Prithikha K.B. MBBS 2020 Batch Student represented Father Muller Medical College in the ‘Vagus 2023’ – National level Undergraduate Medical Conference on 1st and 2nd October 2023 and bagged First place in the Clinical Case Presentation under the guidance of Dr Habeeb Ullah Khan, Professor of Paediatrics.
- The following MBBS students who participated in YENDERMAMIND 2023, the National Medical Undergraduate Symposium held on October 2, 2023, at Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore, have won the following prizes during the conference.

Dr Pooja Peethambaran and Dr Laxmi D. Shetty, Postgraduate Residents of Department of Ophthalmology have secured Second Place in the Intercollegiate Postgraduate Ophthalmology Quiz Competition on Ophthalmic Inflammation and Infection organized by Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore on 9th September 2023.
Mr Adithya Shelley, MBBS 2019 Batch Student represented Father Muller Medical College at the 18th edition of EMPOWER 2023 - An International Undergraduate Conference held at Stanley Medical College, Chennai from 5th September to 8th September 2023 and bagged First place in Medicine Platform Case presentation competition under the guidance of Dr Safwan Ahmed, Associate Professor of Department of Neurology.

Ms Sandria Ann Dsouza, MBBS Student has secured First place in Scientific Paper Presentation titled “Unmet health needs in relation to anemia among the adolescent girls of Mangalore” under the guidance of Dr Sudhir Prabhu H., Professor & HOD of Community Medicine held during the KMC EREVNA 2023, a student medical research conference organized by the Students Research Forum of Kasturba Medical College Mangalore on 28th and 29th April 2023.

Dr Tia Teresa Thomas, Final Year PG Resident of ENT department has secured Second Place in Dr Sandra Nisha Dsouza PG Award Paper for her Research paper titled “The use of the HIT 6 questionnaire to assess the impact of headaches among patients attending the Otorhinolaryngology out-patient department in a tertiary care hospital” during the 74th Annual Conference of the Association of Otolaryngologists of India held in Jaipur.
The Research Article of Mr Kevin Thevarmadam Raju, Student of MBBS 2018 Batch and co-authored by Dr Sharon Joseph, PG Resident of Microbiology department titled “Screening for carriers of carbapenemase producing Enterobacteriaceae in critical care units“ has been accepted for publication in Saudi Journal for Health Sciences (SJHS), under the guidance of Dr Thomas Sunder Singh Kuruvilla, Professor of Microbiology.

Dr Ruby Christy, Final Year PG Resident of Paediatrics department has secured BEST PAPER AWARD for her Research paper titled “Role of mean platelet volume / total platelet count ratio in neonatal sepsis” during Karavali PEDICON 2022 held on 10th and 11th December 2022 at Sahana Convention Centre, Koteshwara, Kundapura.
Dr Suvidha Kamath, Final Year PG Resident of Dermatology department has secured First Place in National Quiz Competition conducted for Post Graduate and Practicing Dermatologists during the First National Conference of Society of Eczema Studies (SES) on 17th and 18th December 2022 at Kolkatta.

won First prize in Radiology Quiz at the 37th Annual State Conference of IRIA,
Karnataka State Chapter, Ramaiah Medical College and Hospital, Bengaluru

Dr. Ann Mathsy Mathews, PG Resident of Anaesthesiology, secured Second Prize for
paper presentation titled “Comparison of interlaminar epidural steroid injection
Vs transforaminal selective nerve root block for treatment of lumbosacral
radiculopathies'' at ISACON 2022, the 69th Annual National Conference of Indian
Society of Anaesthesiologists, Shillong.

presentation titled “Clinicodemographic profile and estimation of transepidermal
water loss in cashew nut dermatitis” at the National Symposium on Paediatric
Eczema & Allergy, Yenepoya Medical College, Mangaluru (27.11.2022).
