Surgical Oncology
OVERVIEW
On 9th December 2007, the Department of Surgical Oncology was inaugurated by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the former President of India. We have operated more than 12,000 patients till date with least Mortality rate of 0.01%. Currently the department is operating around 100 cases/month & around 1200 cases /year with OPD count of 6572 /yr & 2367 cases on inpatient basis. An ACADEMIC MCh Post-doctoral Programme is running. We are serving patients from around Mangalore, surrounding taluks & districts (Uttara Kannada, Belgum, Hassan, Shivamogga, chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Madikeri, Mysore, Davanagere, Bagalkot etc..), and also patients from the neighboring states like North Kerala (Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Kannur etc..), Goa, Maharashtra. We also started consulting patients from other countries as well (Australia, Middle East, Africa, USA, UK, New Zealand).
