DIRECTOR, F.M.C.I.

Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI) is a mother of nine ‘children’ colleges. It encompasses almost all the aspects of health care – the Allopathy, Homoeopathy, Yoga and naturopathy – with a rich legacy of 145 years of quality health service to the people of South India, with a preferential option for the poor, the marginalized and the weaker sections of the people. Being established for those people who could not afford medical care, it continues to remain a beacon of hope even today.

One such College is Father Muller College of Allied Health Sciences (FMCOAHS). The doctor’s service is made easy and also complemented by the Allied Health personnel. There is a dearth of persons in the services required to support the doctors. Hence, College of Allied Health Sciences was started in the year 2020 and it has successfully prepared quality personnel.

Allied Health Sciences include B.Sc. courses in Medical Laboraroty Technology (MLT), Medical Imaging Technology (MIT), Radiotherapy Technology, Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology (A&OTT), Renal Dialysis Technology, Optometry, Cardiac Care Technology, Emergency and Trauma Care Technology, Neuro Science Technology and Respiratory Therapy as well as M.Sc. programmes in MLT & MIT, Clinical Psychology, Masters in Hospital Administration (MHA) and Bachelors in Hospital Administration (BHA) providing personnel in the hospitals.

FMCI is known for quality education, rather formation. The FMCOAHS is taking huge strides in this direction. The students coming from different walks of life are moulded well and prepared to get into the courses by bridge course. They are inducted into the subject on arrival and then on classroom input and hands on training at the 1400 bedded Kankanady Hospital (Father Muller Medical College Hospital). The lives of thousands of seekers of knowledge, their families and the society is benefitting out from this service.

I wish the best to all our students and faculty in the year 2026.
