Sports Physiotherapy Webinar

The Department of Physiotherapy conducted a webinar on the 8th of September 2020 in view of the World Physiotherapy Day. This was conducted using the online platform ZOOM.

The theme for the webinar was Sports Physiotherapy and two eminent speakers were called as resource persons. The 1st session "An Overview of Non-Traumatic Shoulder Pain in Overhead Athletes" was taken by Mr Ronnie Chatterjee. He is Alumni from FMCAHS as he completed both his bachelor and Masters in Musculoskeletal & Sports Physiotherapy and is currently also appointed by BCCI a Physiotherapist for the Mizoram cricket team.

The next session was carried out by Professor Mark King, Ph.D., Associate Dean, Loughborough University. His topic was "Sports Biomechanics and Optimizing Performance". Professor Mark is also appointed by the International Cricket Council to detect fowl play for fast bowlers in international cricket. It was an honour having him talk for our students and participants and was indeed a great learning experience for all.

The sessions were moderated by Ms Leah Mohandas and Ms AshmitaPatrao. The overall event was coordinated by the Incharge Course Coordinator, Mr Sydney Rebello. Fifty to sixty participants took part in the Webinar and we received very positive feedback from the participants. Mr Arnold and Ms Leah have designed E- certificates for the participants and these shall be sent to them via e-mail.
