Alumni Connect Series - Webinar by Dr. Shwetha Akshaya

of Hospital Administration of Father Muller College Of Allied Health Sciences,
Mangalore organized a Webinar on "Quality and Patient Safety" on 27.02.21 The
resource person was Dr. Shwetha Akshaya, an alumnus of this Institution
currently working in Dubai for Cerner Corporation and as a Quality &
Patient Safety Consultant.
The session was very interesting and
interactive. Students gained great insight on Quality and Patient Safety. It is
the cornerstone of the discipline and should be enhanced with continuous
improvement based on learning. Patient safety is fundamental to delivering
quality essential health services. She briefed us about the global scenario of
health, sentinel events in health services and patients safety key terms with
real-life examples from the recent past and Josie's story.
Speaker
also explained to the students about the awareness of risk identification and
management. Students were introduced to the new form of the Zero harm method of
risk reduction and to the process of accreditation.
