WORKSHOP ON NABH

        The inaugural of the workshop on "NABH" was at 9:00a.m. The event was compered by Ms. Chinju George.  

        The workshop was inaugurated by the chief guest, Mr. Santhosh Kumar, NBQP and CQI consultant in the presence of Rev Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director Fr. Muller Charitable institutions, Rev Fr. Ajith B. Menezes the administrator of Father Muller  Medical and Allied College, Rev Fr. Rudolf Ravi DSa, Administrator, Medical College Hospital, Dr. Antony Silvan D'Souza, Dean of Fr. Muller Medical College of allied health sciences, Dr. Sweta D'Cunha HOD of Department of hospital Administration

        The session began with invoking the blessings of the Almighty through a prayer. Dr. Sweta D'Cunha introduced the chief guest welcomed the gathering followed by floral welcome to the guests.

        Lightning the lamp was done by the dignitaries on the dais followed by Rev Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director of  Fr. Muller Charitable institutions addressing the gathering

        Rev Fr. Richard Coelho spoke about how quality is a never ending process and why quality is an important aspect when it comes to hospitals gaining NABH accreditation. He told us about the number of times Father Muller has received the NABH and NABL accreditation and how difficult the process can be if one is not guided by a Professional consultant.

 

        The inaugural program came to an end with a thanking note by Sr. Mini

 

DAY 1

Mr. Santhosh Kumar started the session with giving an introduction on quality in healthcare, the different authorities of accreditation and their organizational structure ,the journey of NABH which includes the entry level, progressive level and full accreditation and the benefits of NABH to the hospital, the patients, medical and nursing professionals and other hospital employees.

Mr. Santhosh Kumar explained the process of entry level accreditation. He then   gave a detailed explanation on the different requirements for gaining the accreditation. The 10 chapters and 26 objectives of entry level accreditation was explained in detail with 5 chapters being patient centered and the other 5 were organization centered.

DAY 2

This session started with the explanation of the Implementation of the accreditation. He explained about Compilation of manuals, Compilation of policies, Compilation of SOPs, Training and monitoring of quality indicators

Mr. Santhosh Kumar gave details of the accreditation procedure which includes, Self assessments, Application for accreditation, Desktop assessment, Onsite assessment/ virtual assessment, Issue of certificate, Surveillance, Reassessment

 

The day came to an end with the closing ceremony which included reading of the report by Ms. Nafeesath Nour, feed back by Fr. Shijo Mon, vote of thanks Ms Diana.
