This
session was moderated by Miss Loveena Shettian. In simple words he explained us
the meaning of private equity, in which the investors not only invest, but also
act like mentors towards the growth and development of the organization, they
also become part of the decision making. There are two types. Private equity and
venture capital. Venture capital is financing by the investors ethically for a
startup company examples are Zomato, Bijju's App, Alibaba, Swiggy, Policy Bazaar
- these are global companies who hit the 1 million mark. Whereas private equity
runs companies and health care centers; one is KIMS by True North who invested
2000 million dollars, Cloud Nine by Matrix Partners, Sequoia India and
TrueNorth, care hospital, Motherhood, by PPG - a Texa specific group which is
the second largest in the world.
He
concluded with clarifying the queries from the participants. If the management
is clear about the progress and profit of the business, then we can take
private equity funding for the startup and expansion otherwise it is not wise
enough to go far later.

Sweta Dcunha HOD of MHA Department appreciated his contribution to the society
as an alumni of this institution and thanked him for the effective session
taken by him.
