of Hospital Administration of Fr. Muller College Of Allied Health Sciences,
Mangalore organized a Webinar on "Journey
of a Hospital Administrator - Operational Aspects" The resource person was Fr.
Shaiju Augustine Thoppil, - Director, Lourdes Hospital & MHA alumni on
27.03.2021.
It
was an interactive session. Miss Diana Fernandes moderated the session. He
explained his journey as an Assistant Administrator, then as the Director of
Lourdes Hospital, Ernakulum. He emphasized the importance of interpersonal relationship
between the management and the staff. There was a discussion on how to motivate
the doctors to comply with the objectives of the organization; to confront if
necessary with the facts and figures. Transparency is also another important
factor.
The
participants raised concerns about the covid crisis, social responsibilities,
competition among the health institution etc. Fr Shaiju answered the questions
in a detailed manner. The session ended with a note of thanks by Dr. Sweta
Dcunha, the HOD of the Department.
