Alumni Connect Series - Webinar by Dr Sunita Saldanha

Department of Hospital Administration of Fr. Muller College Of Allied Health Sciences, Mangalore organized a Webinar on "An Administrator's perspective on COVID 19" The resource person was Dr Sunita Saldanha, - HOD, Hospital Administration, Dean- Allied Health Sciences, Yenepoya University  & MHA alumni on 09.04.2021.

This session was moderated by Miss Jason D'Almeida.  Dr Sunita started her talk by giving a short introduction on the origin of COVID 19 in Wuhan, China. She focused on the management of Covid in Yenepoya hospital, stressed the importance of teamwork in handling the crisis.

She mentioned how the healthcare system was not prepared for this pandemic and how they had to learn all the way and implement various measures to handle the situation. Her talk gave deep insights into areas of administrative responsibilities during this time, external liaison with government authorities & adopting guidelines, development of infrastructure such as zoning, construction of covid screening areas, provision of waiting area, infection control protocols in hospital. She later answered queries from the participants.

Dr Sweta Dcunha appreciated her contribution and thanked her for sharing her experience with the group.
