Father Muller Department of Hospital administration visited simulation and skill centre on March 5th 2022. A training session for students of 1st and 2nd MHA on "First Aid & CPR" was conducted by Mr. Pradeep Dsouza - simulation technician, Mrs. Lavina Nazareth - ANS, and Mrs. Sangeetha - ANS.

Initially the session began with the introduction and power point presentation regarding First Aid, bites and stings, burns and for the person who had sudden choking. We were taught the techniques of abdominal thrust (Heinlick Marevver). They explained regarding BLS (Basic Life Support) by showing a scenario, where person had sudden cardiac arrest and what were the steps that need to be taken to start BLS;  followed by question and answer session.

There was a hands-on training for checking and BLS mechanism; for all the students as a group of 7-8 members. Later they gave an orientation to the department in which they showed us mannequin on which different procedures will be performed by medical and nursing students like incubation, IV, Catheterization etc.

They also showed a female live mannequin which was especially designed for anti-natal labor and Post-natal care procedure in which students will be given scenario of different labor conditions and they have to perform live on how to handle such critical cases. It was a great learning experience which was very useful.
