ANNUAL SPORTS DAY

On 15^th June 2023, the student council of Father Muller College of Allied Health Sciences organized its Annual Sports Day event with the theme MAGNUM for the year 2023.

The inaugural ceremony was held in the indoor stadium in the presence of the Administrator, Principal, Physical Education Directors and Lecturers. The crowd was welcomed by the student council President Joicy Devina Monteiro. The Administrator Rev. Fr. Ajith B Menezes addressed the gathering with his words of wisdom. The crowd was then instructed to gather in the ground where the banner release ceremony was done by the Administrator for revealing the theme for sports and culturals of the year 2023.

Shortly after that, the administrator commemorated the sports events for the day starting off with football for men which was held as a league this year.

The entire league consisted of 12 matches which were held for 2 days out of which Blaze won the league with first place, Thorsten won second, Wasser won third and Astrum won fourth.

On 16^th June, along with the Football finals, Hogathon for men and women was held.

=>Hogathon for women: First place was won by Angel from Thorsten: Second place was won by Getciya from Wasser and Third place was won by Jean from Blaze.

=>Hogathon for men: First place was won by Ephraim from Astrum, Second place was won by Leslie from Wasser and Third place was won by Rudolph from Blaze.

On 17^th June, Chess and Arm wrestling for men and women were held.

=> Chess: First place was won by Princeton from Wasser, Second place was won by Ephraim from Astrum and Third place was won by Allen from Zephyr.

=> Arm wrestling for men: First place was won by Karan Lobo from Astrum, Second place was won by Ganesh from Blaze and Third place was won by Midhun from Thorsten.

=> Arm Wrestling Women: First place was won by Getciya from Wasser, Second place was won by Vidhyashree from Thorsten and Third place was won by Thamsi from Thorsten.

On 19^th June, Kabaddi for men was held. Zephyr Won the Kabaddi finals and Wasser was the Runners up.

On 20^th June, Women's Throwball was held. Blaze won the Throwball finals and Wasser was the Runners up.

On 21^st June, Women's Volleyball was held. Zephyr won the Volleyball finals and Astrum was Runners up.

On 22^nd June, Men's Basketball was held. Wasser won the Basketball finals and Thorsten was Runners up.

On 24^th June, Badminton singles and Table Tennis for Men and Women were held.

=> Badminton singles for Men: First place was won by Rebin from Wasser, Second place was won by Princeton from Wasser and Third place was won by Tharun from Zephyr.

=> Badminton singles for Women: First place was won by Riyana from Blaze, Second place was won by Ayesha from Wasser, and Third place was won by Theertha from Wasser.

=> Table Tennis for Men: First place was won by Sheehan from Wasser, Second place was won byJenwil from Astrum and Third place was won by Reyon from Astrum.

=> Table Tennis for Women: First place was won by Nisha from Thorsten, Second place was won by Ananya from Thorsten and Third place was won by Rashmi from Astrum.

On 25^th June, Badminton Doubles for Men and Women and Badminton Mixed Doubles were held.

=> Badminton Doubles for Men: First place was won by Tharun and Allen from Zephyr and Second place was won by Rebin and Princeton from Wasser.

=> Badminton Doubles for Women: First place was won by Claudia and Riyana from Blaze and Second place was won by Ayesha and Theertha from Wasser.

=> Badminton Mixed Doubles: First place was won by Rebin and Ayesha from Wasser and Second place was won by Princeton and Theertha from Wasser.

On 26^th June, Men's Volleyball was held. Astrum won the Volleyball finals and Thorsten was Runners up.

On 27^th and 28^th Cricket for Men was held. Blaze won the Cricket finals and Thorsten was Runners up.

All the teams were awarded points based on their performance and some other parameters. In the end, team Wasser stood tall as an overall winner, followed by team Thorsten, which almost rivaled the champion. All were happy at the end of the event, and all the efforts of the students paid off. In the prize distribution ceremony, all the winning students and teams were awarded trophies and certificates, and the winning team was awarded the Trophy. In the end, the Administrator Fr. Ajith B Menezes and the Principal Dr. Hilda D'Souza addressed all the students and congratulated all the winning students, and appreciating the efforts made by each student all these days.
