Medical Tourism : Guest Lecture

The Department of Hospital Administration at Father Muller College of Allied Health Sciences organized a guest lecture on Medical Tourism on 13th December 2025.

The session was delivered by Mr. Jayaprakasha K, Assistant Professor at Graphic Era University, who shared practical and industry-oriented insights on the growing field of medical tourism.

The program commenced with a warm introduction by Ms. Dafney, I Year MHA student. Mr. Jayaprakasha began by explaining the concept and importance of medical tourism in today’s healthcare system. He discussed how patients increasingly travel across borders in search of affordable, high-quality medical care. The session highlighted the global growth of medical tourism and outlined some of the leading destination countries.

Special emphasis was placed on India’s role in the medical tourism sector. Factors such as cost-effective treatment, availability of skilled medical professionals, advanced hospital infrastructure, and supportive healthcare services were clearly explained. The speaker also highlighted the crucial role of hospital administrators in coordinating care for international patients, managing logistics, ensuring quality standards, and enhancing patient experience.

The session was interactive, with students actively participating and engaging in discussions. They gained valuable insights into the scope of medical tourism and its relevance to hospital administration practice.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Denita D’Souza, I Year MHA student. Overall, the lecture provided students with a clearer understanding of medical tourism and its growing significance within the global healthcare industry.
