The Certificate Program in Quality in Healthcare (CPQH) was organized at Father Muller College of Allied Health Sciences, Mangalore, in collaboration with Consortium of Hospital & Healthcare organisation (CAHO) and AJ Institute of Hospital Management with the aim of enhancing knowledge on healthcare quality standards, patient safety, and NABH accreditation among healthcare administrationstudents.
The program commenced with the inaugural ceremony, where Dr. Nirmala Kumari, Head of the Department, delivered the welcome address and warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and participants. The ceremony was marked by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the spread of knowledge and wisdom.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Amitha P. Marla, Director of Medical Administration at AJ Hospital and Research Centre and Chairperson of CAHO, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of NABH standards and quality practices in strengthening patient safety and healthcare excellence.She spoke about the various initiatives undertaken by CAHO and CAHO- student Engagement Committee.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Rev. Dr Michael Santhumayor, Administrator of the institution, who spoke about importance of quality in today’s healthcare. He said quality is not a luxury but a moral obligation and encouraged participants to strive for excellence in healthcare services.
The inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr.Sweta D’Cunha, Professor and Program Coordinator, followed by the Institution Anthem, after which the training sessions of the CPQH program commenced.
