An awareness on Importance of Breastfeeding at Father Muller Hospital Thumbay on 05/08/2022

On the Occasion of World Breast Feeding Week an awareness Programme was conducted at Father Muller Hospital Thumbay on 05-08-2022 at 3.00pm.

Dr Beena C Shetty, Consultant Gynaecologist, Dept of OBG Father Muller Hospital Thumbay was the resource person for the programme and she delivered health talk to the gathered audience about Breast feeding. She said that World Breast Feeding Week started in 1992, with annual themes including healthcare systems, women and work, the International Code of Marketing of Breast milk Substitutes, community support, ecology, economy, science, education and human rights.

Declaration says that all women should be enabled to practise exclusive breastfeeding and all infants should be fed exclusive breastfeeding in the first 6 months of life  which is the most effective way to satisfy nutritional and psychological needs of a baby .

It was an interactive brainstorming session and audience were actively participated during the session.
