Overview

 

The Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) – Lateral Entry is a 3-year undergraduate program designed for candidates who have completed Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm). Through lateral entry, students are admitted directly into the 2nd year (3rd semester) of the B. Pharm course.

The program builds upon the foundational knowledge gained during D. Pharm and provides advanced education in pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacognosy, and clinical pharmacy. It integrates theoretical learning with practical laboratory training, industrial exposure, and research-oriented approaches.

The curriculum is structured to enhance professional competence and prepare students for higher-level roles in pharmaceutical industries, healthcare systems, and research sectors, while also opening pathways for postgraduate education and specialization.

Eligibility

B. Pharm (Lateral Entry – Direct to 2nd Year):

  • Candidates must have passed Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). They must have secured the minimum required marks as per RGUHS and Government of Karnataka norms. Admissions are made in accordance with the guidelines of RGUHS, PCI, and Government of Karnataka.
