REPORT ON MASSIVE WALKATHON – ANTI-DRUG & ORGAN DONATION AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

The Dakshina Kannada District RGUHS Colleges Management Association, in collaboration with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, organized a Massive Walkathon on 29th November 2025 as part of the Anti-Drug and Organ Donation Awareness Campaign. The event aimed to educate the public on the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote the importance of organ donation, under the national initiative Nasha Mukth Bharath & Angdaan – Jeevan Sanjeevani Abhiyaan.

The walkathon was flagged off at Mangala Stadium, Mangaluru, at 7:30 AM with enthusiastic participation from students of various RGUHS-affiliated colleges across Dakshina Kannada. The theme for this year’s campaign was “Freedom from addiction is our right.”

A total of 44 Students and 3 Faculties from Father Muller College of Pharmaceutical Sciences enthusiastically participated in the walkathon. They represented the institution with commendable discipline, spreading awareness through slogans, banners, and meaningful interactions with the public along the route. Their involvement showcased the college’s dedication to public health promotion, social responsibility, and community engagement.

The event successfully conveyed key messages on the prevention of substance abuse and the life-saving significance of organ donation. The students reported that the walkathon was a meaningful and motivating experience, allowing them to contribute to a noble cause and interact with the community.

Overall, the Massive Walkathon was a well-organized and impactful event, and the active participation of Father Muller College of Pharmaceutical Sciences added value to the awareness campaign.
