Students visit to Mangalore Refinery Private Limited (MRPL)

The IV BHMS students visited the Mangalore Refinery Private Limited (MRPL) on 14.06.2024. The batch was divided into two groups. Mr. Girish, Production Engineer explained about the history of MRPL and also gave awareness of the products produced from crude oil like, petrol, diesel, kerosene, naphthalene, bitumen etc.. He interacted with the students and explained about the actions taken in an emergency situation. Referring the patients after initial treatment at the factory hospital by FMO and then to nearby hospitals for further treatment also was discussed. Students queries were responded well by MRPL team.

Students were taken for a ride in the bus connected with spark arrester; they witnessed different products and byproducts in the refinery.

Dr Sajan K R, HOD, Department of Community Medicine escorted the students during the visit.
