Republic Day 2025

The 76th Republic Day was celebrated at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College on 26.01.2025 at 7.30am. Republic Day marks the momentous occasion when the Constitution of India came into effect in 1950, making India a sovereign, democratic republic. It is a day to honor the vision of our great leaders who worked tirelessly to shape the framework of our nation. 

 

The theme of Republic Day 2025 is “Swarnim Bharat – Virasat aur Vikas’’ (Golden India – Heritage and Development), reflecting India's rich cultural heritage and its ongoing journey of progress.

 

The programme commenced at 7.30am by invoking the blessings of the almighty through a prayer song lead by Ms Anya Miriam and team. Mr Akhil Monterio, President of the Students' Council, extended a warm welcome to Rev. Fr Ashwin Lawrence Crast, Assistant Administrator of FMHMCH & FMCOPS; the Chief Guest, Rev. Fr Nelson Dheeraj Pais, Administrator of FMHPD; Principal Dr E.S.J. Prabhu Kiran; Vice Principal Dr Vilma D'Souza; Dr Satish, Principal FMCOPS; Dr Aneesh Thomas, Principal Inspire NEET Academy and the august gathering. He also had the honor of introducing the Chief Guest.

 

The Chief Guest, Rev. Fr Nelson Dheeraj Pais, Administrator of FMHPD, unfurled the National Flag and in his address highlighted the importance of paying tribute to the visionaries and freedom fighters who selflessly sacrificed their lives for the nation. He emphasized that their dreams of a free, fair, and inclusive India were brought to life under the visionary guidance of Dr B.R Ambedkar, whose leadership was instrumental in drafting the Constitution of Our Nation.

 

He highlighted that India's journey is a true reflection of resilience, progress, and outstanding accomplishments. From advancements in agriculture to pioneering space exploration, from technological breakthroughs to significant progress in healthcare, India has emerged as a global leader. The nation stands as a shining example of diversity, determination, and hope. Republic  day serves as a reminder of our responsibilities as citizens to uphold the values enshrined in our Constitution. He urged the gathering to join in committing to work together towards creating an inclusive, sustainable, and peaceful nation.

 

Administrator Rev Fr Ashwin L Crasta garlanded the portrait of Dr B R Ambedkar, the Chief architect of the Constitution of India, and a Founding Father of the Republic of India

 

The Preamble of our Constitution was recited by the General Secretary, Ms Chetana P.L.

 

Mr Sayed Falah Mohiddin served as commander for the event.

 

Ms Merrin Paul compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.

 

The programme concluded with the institutional anthem at 8:00 a.m
