Library User Orientation Programme

The Library Committee organized a Library User Orientation Programme on Access to E-resources on 28.06.2025 at the Father Muller Seminar Hall. 

Dr Janet Lobo, Chief Librarian, Central Library FMCI was the resource person. 

The objective of the programme was to familiarize the first-year BHMS students with the efficient use of digital library resources and remote access tools available through the institution.

The programme was graced by Rev. Fr Nilesh Crasta, Administrator, along with Dr. E S J Prabhu Kiran and Dr. Vilma Dsouza Vice Principal/Library Coordinator Dr. Janet Lobo, Chief Librarian, Central Library FMCI. 

Rev. Fr Nilesh Crasta addressed the gathering and delivered an encouraging message to the students, emphasizing on the importance of cultivating good reading habits and making optimal use of digital academic resources for their studies and research.

The resource person for the session was Dr Janet Lobo conducted a comprehensive Two-hour session in which she demonstrated the usage of various e-resources, including e-journals, e-books, academic databases, and remote access systems. The live demonstration helped students to understand how to log in, search, access, and download digital academic content from anywhere using institutional credentials. 

Following the presentation, an interactive session was held during which students actively participated by posing queries and seeking clarifications. Dr Janet Lobo addressed all their questions with practical insights, ensuring that the participants left with a clear understanding of the digital tools available to them. 

The session was well-received by the students, who expressed appreciation for the hands-on approach and clarity provided during the orientation. 

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the organizers and the valuable contributions of the speakers and the entire session was skilfully facilitated by Mrs. Prashma. Library Assistant FMHMC.
