Annual Spiritual Retreat (Catholic Students)

A meaningful spiritual retreat was conducted at Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel, providing students with a valuable opportunity to pause, reflect, and reconnect with God. The programme began with a warm welcome by Dr Adlin Gonsalves, Assistant Professor, Department of OBG.

Mrs Nishmitha D’Souza formally introduced the esteemed resource person, Rev. Fr. Rahul Dexter D’Souza.

The retreat was centered on the theme “Anchored in Faith, Renewed for the Journey Ahead.” The programme was enriched by the vibrant presence of musician Mr Ronak Fabian, who led the students in soulful praise and worship, creating a deeply prayerful and uplifting atmosphere.

Throughout the retreat, Rev. Fr. Rahul Dexter D’Souza guided the students on a journey of spiritual renewal. Through insightful reflections, prayers, and moments of silence, students were encouraged to deepen their relationship with God and embrace essential values such as discipline, compassion, gratitude, forgiveness, and faith.

The retreat concluded with the celebration of the Holy Mass, leaving the participants with renewed hearts, uplifted spirits and a deeper awareness of God’s loving presence in their lives.

Value Education Programme (Non-Catholic Students)

The Value Education Programme was conducted at the FMHMC Auditorium. The session began with a welcome address by Dr Saviona Fernandes.
Dr Jolly D’Mello, Co-coordinator of the Spiritual Committee and Associate Professor, Department of Physiology and Biochemistry, welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person Rev. Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza.

The programme was based on the theme “Developing Strong Character and a Positive Outlook.”

Rev. Fr. Ashwin Cardoza delivered an insightful and thought-provoking session highlighting the importance of integrity, compassion, gratitude, respect and responsibility as the foundation of a meaningful and fulfilling life.

He encouraged students to reflect on the values they uphold and to consciously practice these principles in their daily actions and relationships. The session was both inspiring and practical, offering valuable guidance on staying grounded in one’s values amidst the challenges of modern life.

Both programmes concluded at 4.00 p.m., marking a day of spiritual enrichment, reflection, and value-based learning for all participants.
