The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotism and solemnity at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital (FMHMCH), Deralakatte, on Monday, January 26, 2026, at the college premises.
The programme commenced at 8:30 a.m.. The celebration began with a prayer song by Ms Ranjitha and team, invoking blessings for the nation.
The welcome address and introduction of the Chief Guest was delivered by Mr Zeeshan Haveri, President of the Students’ Council. The parade was commanded by Sports Secretary, Mr Nikhil Samuel.
The National Flag was unfurled by the Chief Guest, Mr Aneesh Thomas, Incharge, Inspire NEET Academy, followed by the National Anthem. A garlanding ceremony of the portrait of Dr B.R. Ambedkar was carried out by the chief guest Mr Aneesh Thomas , paying tribute to the architect of the Indian Constitution.
The Preamble of the Constitution was solemnly read by Ms Abhinaya Jogipeta, Vice President, Students’ Council, reminding everyone of the values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.
In his address, the Chief Guest highlighted the importance of constitutional values, discipline, and responsible citizenship among medical students and youth, urging them to contribute positively to nation-building. He mentioned that medical profession is the noblest way to protect the right, when we treat every patient irrespective of caste, creed, language or economic status – is a living example of constitutional values in action.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms Jovita Crasta (FMCOPS), followed by the Institution Anthem.
The celebration witnessed active participation from faculty members, students, and staff, making the Republic Day observance meaningful and memorable. The Programme was beautifully compeered by Dr Aby P Johnson, MD Part 2 Scholar.
