In order to enhance homoeopathic practice skills among postgraduate students and to facilitate meaningful interaction with experienced clinicians, Post graduate department of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College successfully launched a new academic seminar series titled LEAP – Local Experts to Augment Postgraduate Education.
The inaugural seminar of the LEAP series was conducted on 20 February 2026 at the Fr. Muller Seminar Hall, Deralakatte. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world clinical practice by providing postgraduate students an opportunity to learn directly from local experts actively engaged in homoeopathic practice. Dr Prasanna Kumar K was chosen as the inaugural speaker of this module.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr G. Rajachandra, PG Coordinator, who formally welcomed the Administrator, Principal, Medical superintendent and the faculty and the postgraduates. He outlined the objectives of the LEAP series and emphasized its role in strengthening postgraduate training through practical clinical exposure.
The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of the Administrator, Rev Fr Donald Nilesh Crasta and the Principal, Dr ESJ Prabhu Kiran. In his address, Rev Fr Donald Nilesh Crasta appreciated the initiative and encouraged the organization of more such academic programmes for postgraduate students, highlighting their importance in shaping competent professionals for future homoeopathic practice.
Addressing the gathering, Dr ESJ Prabhu Kiran, stressed that the true motto of postgraduate education is not only to produce competent teachers, but also to develop effective and confident clinicians who can serve society with skill and responsibility. He requested the PG Coordinator to organize a series of such academic interactions to strengthen clinical orientation among postgraduate students.
Dr G. Rajachandra, PG Coordinator also expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, resource person, faculty members, postgraduate students, and the organizing team for the successful conduct of the inaugural LEAP seminar.
The academic session was delivered by the resource person, Dr Prasanna Kumar K, who shared his rich clinical experience. He highlighted the most common and important clinical conditions encountered in his practice and discussed practical approaches to case selection, case acceptance, and appropriate referral. He also encouraged postgraduate students by sharing commonly prescribed remedies and clinical decision-making strategies relevant to day-to-day practice.
The session was interactive and highly beneficial, providing valuable insights into practical homoeopathic management and ethical clinical practice. Faculty members and postgraduate students actively participated, making the session lively and informative.
The LEAP series marks a significant step towards enriching postgraduate education by integrating academic knowledge with real-world clinical expertise, and it is expected to play a vital role in shaping competent and confident homoeopathic practitioners.
