The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital (FMHMCH), organized a series of activities over eight days in observance of International Women’s Day 2026. The programme was conducted from 1st March 2026 to 8th March 2026, focusing on women’s health awareness, screening, academic engagement, and community outreach. The events commenced with a women’s health awareness and screening camp and concluded with a National Seminar on Female Malignancies.

Sunday, 1st March 2026
A Women’s Health Awareness and General Health Camp was conducted at Nithyadar Church, Thokottu, Derlakatte. The camp focused on educating women about common health concerns, preventive care, and the importance of regular health check-ups.
Monday, 2nd March – Saturday, 7th March 2026
An In-house Women’s Health Camp was organized at the FMHMCH OPD, Derlakatte, providing consultation, screening, and health education for women.
2nd, 4th and 6th March 2026
In-house women’s health camps were also conducted at FMHMCH OPD, Kankanady, extending services to a wider community.
Tuesday, 3rd March 2026
An Awareness and Screening Camp was conducted at Vidyarathna School, Badiyar, Derlakatte, focusing on adolescent health awareness and screening services.
Thursday, 5th March 2026
A Health Awareness and General Health Camp for Women was conducted at the AYUSH Centre, Ladyhill, promoting preventive healthcare and early detection of health issues.
To encourage early screening and diagnosis, 50% concession was provided on the following investigations during the health awareness and screening camps:

A Students’ Model Making Competition on the theme “Visual Learning: Female Malignancies in Focus” was organized to encourage innovative learning and enhance understanding of female cancers through creative visual models.
The models were evaluated by an esteemed panel of judges:
The judges appreciated the students’ creativity, scientific accuracy, and their efforts in presenting complex concepts related to female malignancies in a clear and visually engaging manner.
GYNAECAN–26: National Seminar on Female Malignancies

The concluding event of the week-long programme was GYNAECAN–26, a National Seminar on Female Malignancies, conducted with lectures by distinguished speakers:
As part of the academic activities during the seminar, an Open Forum Paper Presentation Session was organized. A total of 20 scientific papers related to women’s health were presented by delegates and students. The session encouraged active academic discussion, exchange of ideas, and sharing of clinical perspectives.
The eight-day programme successfully combined community outreach, preventive healthcare, student academic engagement, and scientific discussion. These activities significantly contributed to enhancing awareness about women’s health, promoting early screening for diseases, and benefiting a large number of women in the community.
