On March 6, 2026, the Women’s Guidance and Counselling Committee of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College (FMHMC) along with Father Muller College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (FMCOPS), organized a vibrant program to commemorate International Women’s Day at 2.30 pm at Father Muller Seminar Hall. The event served as a platform to honor the achievements of women within our institution and the broader community, reflecting the 2026 global theme of equity and empowerment.
The formal program commenced at the College Seminar Hall with a prayer song from the Non teaching staff, followed by the lighting of the lamp. The dignitaries seated on the dais were Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI), Chief Guest Mrs. Bindhiya Nayak, District Officer, Backward Class Welfare Department, Dakshina Kannada along with Rev. Fr Donald Nilesh Crasta, Administrator, FMHMCH & FMCOPS ; Rev. Fr Nelson Dheeraj Pais, Administrator, FMHPD; Dr ESJ Prabhu Kiran, Principal, FMHMC; Dr Satish S, Principal, FMCOPS; Dr Vilma Meera Dsouza, Vice Principal, FMHMC and Dr Indu O S, Coordinator, Women’s Guidance and Counselling Committee.
A highlight of the celebration was the formal felicitation of Mrs. Thanuja, the sole female Security Personnel on the Father Muller campus. The committee chose to honor Mrs. Thanuja for her dedicated service, resilience, and for breaking gender stereotypes within the campus workforce. She was presented with a memento, shawl and fruit basket by the Director and the Chief Guest as a mark of respect for her contribution to the safety and discipline of the institution.
In a display of solidarity, many attendees observed the day’s color code, featuring shades of purple, violet, and lavender, symbolizing justice and dignity.
