A Free
Medical Health Camp was organized by FMHMC on the Eve of International Women's
day on 08.03.2020 at St. Thomas Church Ammembal under the
supervision of Dr. Vilma D' Souza HOD & Professor, department of
Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Dr. Jacintha Monterio, Professor
department of Organon of Medicine on the theme of "Women's health care and
Medical complaints".
The Health
camp was held on 08th March 2020 at Ammembal church. Before the
Eucharistic celebration there was brief introduction on general health awareness talk
given by Dr. Sr Mabel, a postgraduate student of FMHMC followed by Eucharistic
Mass offered by Rev. Fr. Roshan Crasta, Administrator of Father
Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and Rev. Fr. Lawrence Mascharenas, the
Parish Priest of Ammembal church.
This was
followed by inauguration of the programme by Lighting of the Lamp. After the Inauguration, awareness talk was
given for Women on "Women's Health Care and Homoeopathic Management" by Dr.
Vilma Dsouza, HOD, & Professor Department of Obstetrics and
Gynaecology.
Meanwhile for
men and children who attended the camp separate registration and general
Health checkup including blood pressure, GRBS (diabetic) and weight
checkup was done.
After the Women's
awareness talk there was separate counter for women's registration and General
health checkup.
There were
total 212 members attended this camp including children, men and women.
Out of 211 members, 30 members registered for women's health camp alone
and 182 members including men, children and women other than genital
complaints registered for medical camp.
The Staff
and PG's took the cases and Interns dispensed the medicines. Laboratory staff checked the Hb and GRBS
test.
The members
who attended the camp benefited with the free medical checkups and free Hb and
GRBS test, free treatment for the future follow-ups at deralakatte for 1 month
and 50% Medical health card facilities
for one year.
The Parish Priest
and the women's society of Amembal church organized this camp in a very
systematic way and provided morning
breakfast and afternoon lunch for all those attended for the camp.
The vehicle
started from Kankanady premises at 7.30am sharp and reached to Amembal church
at 8.15am. Returned back from Church at
2.00pm and reached to the kankanady campus at 3.05pm.
