A Homoeopathic medical awareness and treatment
camp was held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Kuppepadav on 11th April
2021. A formal inaugural programme was organized by the parish in association
with the Grama panchayat.
Dr Deepa Rebello, Deputy Medical
Superintendent, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital
addressed the visitors of the camp. She highlighted the origin of Homoeopathy
in India and its scope for treating various ailments. A special talk on
managing renal stones with Homoeopathy was given by Dr Prashanth, PG Scholar.
After the formal inauguration, the medical camp
started with 3 separate sections where Dr Deepa Rebello representing Medicine
OPD, Dr K John Paul representing Surgery OPD and Dr Sebastian P A representing
Pediatric OPD treated the patients who visited the camp. The postgraduates and
interns assisted the camp in registration, distribution of health cards,
physical examination, laboratory investigations, dispensing of medicines and
functioning of the camp. The beneficiaries were more of geriatric age
presenting with OA, cardiac ailments, DM, chronic kidney disease, epilepsy,
etc., Young adults presented with sports injuries, gastric ailments etc., Children
presented with worm infestations, fungal infection etc., The camp was a success
with 76 patients who were benefitted.
