The
Inauguration of the Cancer Awareness
Week was held on 21.02.2022 at
Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College Hospital in the Outpatient
department. Rev Fr Roshan Crasta, administrator, FMHMC & H inaugurated the
camp by lighting the lamp. Dr ESJ Prabhu Kiran, Principal, FMHMC, Mr Sheena
Shetty, President Janashikshana Trust and District Sanitation Ambassador,
Dakshina Kannada, Mr Krishna Moolya, Vice President Janashikshana Trust, Mrs Sharada, Senior
Supervisor, Female And Child Health Development Authority, Vittal , Dr Girish
Navada, Medical Superintendent, Dr Shivaprasad K, HOD Organon of Medicine and head
of the Medicine unit,Dr Deepa Pais, Deputy Medical Superintendent, Dr Skandhan
S Kumar, Convenor of the camp joined the inaugural programme.
Rev Fr Roshan Crasta,
Administrator spoke on the occasion and mentioned regarding the importance of
screening and early detection of cancer whereby we can detect certain cancers
at an early stage and treat it well in advance thereby increasing the quality
of life
Dr Shivaprasad K
spoke on the importance of the day and the role of Homoeopathic medicines in
the treatment of cancer as an adjuvant therapy and also gave a briefing
regarding the Palliative care centre attached to the Father Muller Homoeopathic
Medical college Hospital.
The
health camp is extended to the General public from 21.02.2022 to 26.02.2022.
There
is also a display of the specimens, charts and awareness videos for the benefit
of the patients and general public.
