A Free Medical Camp was organised at
Belma Government School, Deralakatte on 10th
November 2022 by the Department of Paediatrics and Department of Community
Medicine.
The camp commenced at 10:30 am with the
health check-up and screening of all the children in the school. A total of 90
children were screened. Those with complaints were diagnosed and prescribed
homoeopathic medicines. The common disease conditions observed were Viral
Conjunctivitis, Acute rhinitis, Common Cold, Headaches and Sinusitis. The
interns were involved in registration of the cases and dispensing of medicines.
Dr Reshel Noronha and Dr Ancy George were the team leaders. The post graduates
students were involved in screening the patients and consultation. There were 3
postgraduate students and 4 interns present for the camp. Out of 90 children
screened, 46 were females and 44 were males.
After the health checkup, the team
conducted games for the children on the occasion of Children's Day. Three sets
of games were conducted. The prizes were distributed to the winners by the team
leaders and the Principal. The camp concluded at 1pm.
