Paediatric Health Camp Interactive Health Talk at Wenlock District AYUSH Hospital

On
the occasion of World Homoeopathy Day, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical
College and Hospital in collaboration with AYUSH department, Government of
India organized a Paediatric Health Camp at the Wenlock District AYUSH Hospital
on 20th April 2023. The Medical Superintendent Dr Girish Navada and
long with the Paediatric Department helped in the organisation. A team of 8
with Dr Reshel Noronha as the team leader, 4 postgraduates and 3 Interns
conducted the camp.
An
inauguration program was held at 10 am which was attended by Dr Mohammed Iqbal,
Dakshin Kannada District Ayush Officer, Dr Ashwath Narayan, Deputy
Director(Homoeopathy),Department of AYUSH, Bengaluru, Dr Ballakrishna Rao Nodal
officer, Lady Goshen Hospital , Dr Girish Navada , Medical Superintendent,
FMHMC, Principal of Yenepoya Homoeopathic Medical College, Principal and Advisor
of Alva's Homoeopathic Medical College and Dr Jyoshna Shivaprasad , HOD
Paediatrics, FMHMC. The Principal of the Homoeopathic Medical Colleges were
felicitated on this occasion. The inauguration concluded at 10:45 am and the
camp commenced at 11 am.
Dr
Shreyank Kotian, Pediatric postgraduate delivered an Interactive Health Talk to
the children while the other team members conducted the Health Checkup. Each
Anganwadi teacher got their students in batches for the check-up.
A
total of 56 children benefitted from the health camp. The children were from
the nearby Anganwadi's of Attavar and Pandeshwar. Common diseases noted were
undernourishment, dental caries and recurrent respiratory tract infections.
Each child also received a kit containing a Fr Muller biochemic tonic and
calendula ointment.
