The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, in collaboration with the Father Muller College of Nursing, organized a Girls’ Health and Wellness Camp on 28 April 2025 at Mangalore University College, as part of World Homoeopathy Day and International Midwives Day.
The program featured an inaugural ceremony with dignitaries from both institutions, followed by expert sessions on PCOD/PCOS, homoeopathic management of women’s health issues, and menstrual hygiene and lifestyle education.
A quiz competition on menstruation and women’s health was also conducted. A total of 88 young women aged 15–28 were screened through medical history assessment, physical examination, and point-of-care tests, with referrals provided where necessary.
Key findings included a high prevalence of menstrual irregularities, cases of anemia with low blood pressure, limited awareness of PCOD/PCOS, and gaps in menstrual hygiene knowledge. Participants were offered follow-up consultations at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and guided on sonography, hormonal evaluation, and essential dietary and lifestyle modifications.
The camp successfully combined education and screening, strengthening awareness and highlighting the value of multidisciplinary collaboration in promoting women’s health.
