Management of Medicines Training Programme

Management of Medicines Training Programme was conducted on 01 June 2026 at 3:00 PM in the Skill Lab Seminar Hall for all the MOM committee members. The programme was organized with the objective of enhancing awareness regarding safe medication practices and strengthening medication management systems within the healthcare institution. Dr Helen Gnanakalanjiam, Chief Quality Manager of Father Muller Medical College was the Resource Person. 

The session focused on the principles and procedures involved in the effective management of medicines in a healthcare organization. The resource person highlighted the importance of maintaining a safe and organized medication process to ensure patient safety and quality healthcare delivery. 

Key topics discussed during the training included:

  • Ensuring a safe and organized medication management process.
  • Maintaining pharmacy oversight of all medications stocked and utilized outside the pharmacy department.
  • Standardization, availability, and timely replenishment of emergency medications.
  • Safe handling and administration of high-risk medications.
  • Monitoring patients following medication administration to identify therapeutic responses and adverse effects.
  • Procedures for reporting, documenting, and analyzing near misses, medication errors, and adverse drug reactions.
  • Ensuring the continuous availability of essential medical supplies and consumables. 

The training programme served as a valuable platform to reinforce the institution’s commitment to patient safety and quality healthcare services. 

A total of 12 members attended the programme. Session concluded at 4pm.
