GENERAL HEALTH CHECKUP, CANCER SCREENING AND AWARENESS CAMP, NEERMARGA

Father Muller Medical College Hospital, in collaboration with the Health Commission, Women Commission, and Forum of Christian United Services, organized a one-day General Health Checkup, Cancer Screening, and Awareness Camp on April 13, 2025, at St Joseph the Worker Church, Neermarga. Various departments were represented, including General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Orthopaedics, Surgical Oncology, Ophthalmology, Lab and Pharmacy. The camp offered a range of medical services, including BP Monitoring, GRBS testing, Eye testing, Pap Smear Test, Breast and Oral Examination, ECG Testing, and dispensing of free medicines.  Dr. Kumar S Vashist, a Surgical Oncologist from Father Muller Medical College Hospital, provided public awareness sessions on cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment.

The camp was effectively coordinated by Ms. Deepika N C, Assistant Professor from the Department of Community Health Nursing at Father Muller College of Nursing (FMCON). Two V Semester BSc Nursing students from Father Muller College of Nursing actively participated in the camp, assisting with Registration, Pap smear tests, ECGs and dispensing free medicines. The camp attracted 168 beneficiaries and was instrumental in promoting health awareness and offering essential screenings to the local community.
