Prioritize Breast feeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems - Radio programme

On the observance of World Breast feeding Week - 2025 with the theme “Prioritize Breast feeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems”, A radio programme was hosted by the Department of Child Health Nursing and the First - Year PBBSc(N) students of FMCON, at All India Radio, Akashvani ,Kadri , 100.3FM, Mangaluru.

The Departmental Faculty Prof. Wilma Shalini Noronha and Prof Helen Claret DSouzain collaboration with First- Year PBBSc Nursing students, participated in the radio programme as resource persons. The topic was presented in the form of role play and delivered in Kannada language.   The following aspects were covered: Significance of World Breast feeding Week, breastfeeding and its impact on the nation, colostrum feeding, Benefits of breastfeeding, feeding techniques, problems and issues related breastfeeding practices, support system available for the breast feeding mothers, on 23 July 2024, All India Radio (Akashavani) recorded the conversation. The programme will be broadcast on All India Radio 100.3FM on 04August 2025at 11am in Vannithavani section.
