Game On: Transform Your Teaching with Gamification - Workshop

On 9 August 2025, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the AV Hall was abuzz with enthusiasm as 35 participants convened for the workshop “Game On: Transform Your Teaching with Gamification,” organized by the Karnataka Allied and Healthcare Professionals Association (KAHPA) in collaboration with Father Muller College of Allied Health Sciences. The workshop opened with the thought-provoking quote, “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” Dr. Hilda D’Souza, Principal of Father Muller College of Allied Health Sciences, delivered the welcome address. The event was adeptly hosted by Ms.Sujaritha, Lecturer, Department of Emergency Medicine, and Ms.Anusree, Lecturer, Department of Optometry and introduced the objectives and scope of the workshop, aiming to equip educators with innovative gamification strategies tailored to health sciences teaching. The program featured presentations by Dr. Archana Bhat (Pathology), Dr. Smitha Bhat (General Medicine), Dr. Madhurima Nayak (Ophthalmology), and Dr. Omkareshwar Patil (Pathology), who each illustrated how quests, badges, leaderboards, levels, and timely feedback can be applied to enhance engagement, promote retention, and foster creativity across their respective disciplines. The session concluded with Dr. Rajesh Shenoy, President of KAHPA, offering a few insightful remarks and presenting mementos to all resource faculty, recognizing their contributions to the workshop.The formal closure came with a vote of thanks by Sujaritha, in which she sincerely acknowledged the efforts of organizers, speakers, attendees, and support staff—bringing the workshop to a graceful and heartfelt close.
