Guest Lecture on AI in Academic Writing

The Department of Hospital Administration at FMCOAHS hosted a guest lecture on AI in Academic Writing on August 11, 2025. The session was delivered by Dr. Habeeb Ur Rahiman from the University of Kingdom, Bahrain.

Dr. Habeeb shared valuable insights on the role of artificial intelligence in academics, emphasizing its growing importance and offering practical guidance on its effective use.

He introduced participants to a range of AI tools useful for academic writing and research, including Google Notebook LM, Google AI Studio, Napkin AI, Gamma, and Mendeley for reference management.

The program opened with a warm welcome and introduction by Ms. Carol Lobo, a first-year MHA student. The engaging session encouraged active participation from both students and faculty, including Dr. Rashmi Kodikal, and fostered meaningful discussions on how AI can enhance research and professional work.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Sharanya and a token of gratitude presented by Prof. Nirmala Kumari, Head of Dept of Hospital Administration expressing appreciation to Dr. Rahiman for his time and expertise.

Overall, the session enriched participants’ understanding of AI’s applications in academic, research, and professional contexts, equipping them with tools and strategies to leverage technology for more effective scholarly work.
