NSS unit of FMHMCH organises Ullal beach cleaning drive

The Coastal Development Board, Government of Karnataka, in association with the NSS Unit of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital (FMHMCH), Deralakatte, Mangalore organised a Ullal Beach Cleaning Drive at Ullal Beach on 6 December 2025, from 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Students of Father Muller College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (FMCOPS) also participated.

 

Shri M. A. Gafoor, Chairman, Coastal Development Board, Government of Karnataka, graced the occasion and addressed the volunteers, highlighting the vital role of youth participation in cleanliness and environmental conservation activities.

 

Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions, in his message to the volunteers, emphasized the importance of preserving water, land, and clean air, and appreciated the enthusiastic involvement of the students.

A total of 150 NSS volunteers from FMHMC and FMCOPS actively participated in the drive, demonstrating commendable enthusiasm and responsibility towards environmental protection.

 

Dr Deeraj Fernandes, NSS Programme Officer, welcomed the gathering, and Mr Sowhad, Medical Social Worker, facilitated the programme.

 

The beach cleaning drive witnessed strong involvement from students and staff, reflecting the institution’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community service.

 

NSS Student Representatives Mr Pranava and Ms Khushi of IV BHMS were also present. Mr Sriram, IV BHMS, compered the session.
