As per the guidelines of the Indian Nursing Council (INC), the Department of Community Health Nursing, Father Muller College of Nursing, organized a Seminar on “Dog Bite, Its Prevention and First Aid” on 11 December 2025 at Rajath Bhavan, FMCON, which commenced at 10:30 a.m.
The programme began with a prayer song performed by the 1st-semester BSc Nursing students. Rev. Sr. Dhanya Devasia, Principal, and Dr Sonia Karen Liz Sequera, Professor, Father Muller College of Nursing, served as the resource persons for the day.
A total of 160 students from the 1st-semester BSc Nursing program, along with faculty members, actively participated in the seminar. The seminar emphasised the INC theme – “Stray Dog Free Campus” - focusing on awareness, preventive measures, and first aid management related to dog bite incidents. The event concluded with an interactive discussion, further enhancing students’ understanding and preparedness in effectively managing dog bite emergencies.
