Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Report

The Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Ceremony of the 4th Batch (2025–2029) BSc Nursing students of Father Muller Nursing College Thumbay, was solemnly held on 20 December 2025, marking an important milestone in their professional journey. The programme began with a Thanksgiving Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Sylvester Vincent Lobo and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Vinod Lobo.

The formal ceremony commenced at 10.30 a.m. with an invocation by the first-year students and a warm welcome by Mrs. Joyce Fernandes. The event was graced by Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions; Chief Guest Dr. Diana Lobo, Principal, Milagres College of Nursing; Rev. Fr. Sylvester Vincent Lobo; Dr. Kiran Shetty; Dr. Reena Wilma Frank, Principal; and Mrs. Janet Siqueira, Vice Principal.

Mrs. Janet Sequeira highlighted the significance of the ceremony in fostering professional values and ethics. The Lamp Lighting Ceremony, symbolizing the beginning of the nursing vocation, was officiated by Dr. Diana Lobo, Dr. Reena Wilma Frank, and Mrs. Janet Siqueira. The Florence Nightingale Oath was administered by Dr. Reena Wilma Frank.

In her address, Dr. Diana Lobo encouraged students to serve with compassion, discipline, and dedication. Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, in his presidential address, inspired students to follow the ideals of Florence Nightingale. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, the Institutional Anthem, and lunch.
